“Divide and Conquer” is a phrase we’re sure you have heard before, but have you ever given much thought to how it pertains to us on an everyday basis? We’re here to propose that it is well past time to take a closer look at this phrase, the strategy behind it, and the damage it is responsible for.
Do you ever wonder how, in spite of all our advances in science and technology, our world is still in such a mess? Well, read on and let me explain ONE reason… I’m not an historian (more personal information available elsewhere), but a brief review of history reveals the phrase “Divide and Conquer” first appeared in ancient Greece, attributed to the father of Alexander the Great. There is some evidence the concept may have originated even earlier in Asia, but let us not digress…I won’t attempt to write the Greek version here, but it was later translated into Latin as “divide et impera”, and first appeared in the English language in the early 1600’s. It was quickly adopted by European sovereigns as the best way to maintain control over their frequently unruly populations, and has been the operating guide for kings, popes, mullahs and other despots ever since as their key to maintaining power.
The easiest way to keep an unhappy population distracted is to tell them their problems at home are being caused by “the other”…If you are a Medieval Christian, the threat is coming from Muslims, or Jews. If you are Sunni Muslim, it’s clear the problems are coming from the Shia, or again, the Jews….If you are white, be afraid of anyone that is not. Do a little research of your own…once you see the pattern, you will begin to see it everywhere. If you are a Northern Ireland Protestant, it’s clear the problem lies with Catholics; for American liberals, it’s the Republican conservatives, and on and on…
Whether or not this approach was necessary for survival in those early days is a debate for another time. What is very clear to me is this approach has now outlived its usefulness, and if we continue to pursue this path, we will not survive as a species. We have already reached the point where at any time, one person could unleash a cycle of events that could easily lead to the end of human life on this planet.
So how do we go about changing this situation? Well, in the first place, it won’t be easy. Secondly, it’s going to take some time. A generation? Perhaps, or perhaps less. But however long it takes, this is a journey we must begin now, because the alternative is not acceptable. And who is going to help us in this journey? Governments? Well, no. Churches? Again, no. If anything, our message is a direct challenge to the status quo of their false prophets, so I would expect their reaction to be an active suppression of our message. They are the ones keeping us apart, sending our children across the sea to kill children they have never met and have no reason to cause harm to other than that they have been told to do so by their so called “leaders”.
We believe the average person on the street in our country wants most of the same things for their children that you want for yours, and the only way to spread this message is person to person, one on one. Parents, teach your children. Well. Read what I’ve written here today, and if any of it rings true, send it to a friend and ask them what they think.
None of us reading this today asked to be born. But now that we are here, it falls to all of us to recognize what a mess our world has become, and establish a better way forward. Because as we can all see, the direction we are now on is leading us down a dark path.
This is our solution…Spreading the word one person at a time and dedicating ourselves to this message. And to take it a step further, by choosing leaders who accept this premise as the only way to move forward. Leaders that will disavow war and armed conflict and commit to mediation and negotiation to resolve all future cultural or territorial disputes. Let’s stop killing innocent women, children and non-combatants in the name of some elusive “peace” that will never be realized until we acknowledge the basic humanity of all people on earth.
The human race needs to hit the “reset” button. We need a new model to move forward, a new paradigm as it were. And that model is as simple as can be: one world, with all people working together, undivided. Simple. Spread the word. Once we have enough of a committed base, we can begin to elect leaders that support our platform, that is, recognition that we are all one people on a planet with limited resources and an environment that is becoming increasingly more unstable. Leaders that will commit to resolving ALL conflicts through communication and mediation and reject armed conflict that serves no purpose other than to perpetuate a constant cycle of violence, and again, the status quo.
So where do we go from here? I have registered the name OneWorldUndivided as a non-profit organization based in the state of Connecticut, USA. All donations received will go towards spreading this message as far and wide as possible throughout the world: on all continents, and into as many languages as possible. My social media skills are very basic, but as time and funds allow, we will take advantage of as many outlets as we can.
We are not independently wealthy and hope to make this project financially self-sustaining as quickly as possible. All donations and expenses paid will be detailed in the Annual Report required of all non-profits registered in the State of Connecticut, and once approved, a copy will be posted to the website. We are committed to complete financial transparency.
